You can take a ride on a steam train directly from Benneckenstein. From here you can reach the Brocken mountain, Wernigerode or Nordhausen.

St. Laurentius Church

The Benneckenstein church is a church with a special feature. It is located near the Wilhelm-Schmidt-Park in the town center.

Ostdeutsches Fahrzeug- & Technikmuseum

A journey back in time to the East. On over 1700 m² of exhibition space, visitors can expect to see two-wheelers, caravans, cars, toys, everyday objects and military technology from the past.

Home museum Benneckenstein

On an exhibition area of around 100 square meters, visitors will find objects, pictures and documentary material on customs, traditions, cultural history, club life and old crafts.

Wilhelm-Schmidt-Park with gondola pond

Right in the center of Benneckenstein, guests and residents will find a place to relax and unwind: the Wilhelm-Schmidt-Park with its gondola pond.

Waldbühne Benneckenstein

The forest stage in Benneckenstein lay dormant for many years. In 2013, the Kulturrevier Harz association was founded. Their aim was to bring the idyllic forest stage back to life and breathe new life into it.

They achieved this with THEATERNATUR.
Every year in the summer months, THEATERNATUR offers a top-class cultural program with the Festival of Performing Arts.

The red couch Harz

It is bright red and shines out at hikers between Benneckenstein and Hohegeiß from afar. It is a real eye-catcher and a special postmark for the Harzer Wandernadel.

Mountain meadow nature trail

The mountain meadow nature trail around Benneckenstein is a family and pram-friendly themed and circular hiking trail. Various information boards/stations and an accompanying booklet describe the diversity of mountain meadows in harmony with man and nature. Children can get to know the typical Harz mountain plants and animals as well as the healing powers of some meadow herbs.
