The Harz village of Stiege is located northwest of the Selketal between Hasselfelde and Güntersberge.

The two lakes in the center of the village are a sight for sore eyes.

The landmark of the community, which is well over 1,000 years old, is the Castle of Stiege. In the 18^th century, a timber-framed church was built, which still characterizes this tranquil ensemble above the Lake Stiege to this day.
