The adventure hike through the Harz Mountains

The adventure hike through the Harz Mountains

Would you like to experience magical insights into the nature and history of the Harz Mountains? Then the Harzer-Hexen-Stieg is just right for you. Over a length of almost 100 km you roam millennial-old high moors and medieval half-timbered towns and climb the peak of the Brocken Mountain as a special highlight. Between your individual stages and the green mixed and coniferous forests you can expect very special moments. Perhaps you will discover the twelve artistic highlights along the way – the Harzer-Hexen-Stieg adventure islands. Thematically and in terms of content, they take up the environment and give your hike through the Harz Mountains that special “icing on the cake”.

The main route of the Harzer-Hexen-Stieg starts in Osterode via Buntenbock – Altenau – Torfhaus -Brocken mountain – Drei-Annen-Hohne – Königshütte – Altenbrak – Bodetal valley to Thale.
Those who want to avoid the Brocken mountain should use the bypass and hike from Torfhaus past St. Andreasberg via Braunlage, Elend to Königshütte.
