The Bauhaus style in Elbingerode
From 1932 to 1934 the Diakonissen-Mutterhaus was built according to the designs of Godehard Schwethelm in Elbingerode in the middle of the Harz Mountains.
In addition to the construction in the Bauhaus style, a very special architectural feature is outstanding about this building: an indoorswimming pool, which was open to the public, is located directly under the church hall of the mother house.
Exhibitions, events and church services are also held regularly on the grounds of the mother house. You can find more information about the Bauhaus object and the events HERE.
